Easter excerpt
Hello writers and readers, wishing you a nice Easter in family, i will enclose another excerpt of Hyperearth
“Bear,
what exactly do we know about Artemis?” Mary asked.
“Artemis isn’t a
city, as you probably think,” Bear explained. “It’s a summer residence that was
inherited by Darden. A few years later, he surrounded it by a moat to make it
less accessible.”
“A moat? Well,
that complicates things,” Martina interjected.
“I’d forgotten
that there is water in the moat,” he added with smile.
“It means
absolutely nothing to me since I can swim,” Mary replied sarcastically. “Well,
I supposed that’s why you’re always here in the library. To study how to get to
Artemis.”
“Exactly,” Bear
affirmed.
“Artemis reminds
me of – or rather, makes me think of – the Osaka Castle in Japan. It was
surrounded by a moat filled with water, and was shaped almost pentagonal,”
Martina explained. “Even if I’ve never visited either place.”
Bear listened
but didn’t comment, and instead bowed his head again to return to the book he
was looking at.
“There doesn’t
seem to be much information about Artemis on the map. Or am I wrong?” Martina
asked.
“Yes,” he
affirmed. “It’s a general map and Artemis is only marked by a dot. The book I’m
looking at is more comprehensive, and also contains drawings.” He directed
their attention to the open page.
“I see that the
only bridges leading into Artemis are west and south,” Mary observed.
“We’ll enter
through the south,” Bear replied. “The residence is isolated and nearly devoid
of plant life. There’s only a few trees behind in the north.”
“So that’s a
problem, since we’ll be visible if we cross the bridge. Plus, it will be
heavily guarded,” Martina speculated.
“I’m sure you’re
right,” Bear agreed. “But I don’t think Sathon’s expecting an attack. He’s a
presumptuous man who thinks he’s invincible.”
“Then we have
all the advantage,” Mary blurted out optimistically. “If he’s not expecting us,
we can win based on the element of surprise.”
“I’m glad you
have faith in this endeavor,” Bear replied. “However, passing the bridge is
easy, though getting inside Artemis is the problem. Even after entering, we
could be discovered.”
“We can enter
from the cellars, like we did in Sathon’s castle,” Mary proposed, but Bear didn’t
see it being quite that simple.
“It’s a
possibility, but we can’t guarantee it. We’d need an informant to help us get into
Artemis.”
“What a shame
that we couldn’t even take Sathon as prisoner when we attacked the wagon,”
Martina said remorsefully.

Gate of Gods, Peru
The
Gate of the Gods:
The Gate of the Gods, or the "Puerta de Hayu Marca" has been at some time in the distant past carved out of a natural rock face and in all measures exactly seven meters in height by seven meters in width with a smaller alcove in the centre at the base, which measures in at just under two meters in height.
This huge mysterious door-like structure in the Hayu Marca mountain region of Southern Peru near Lake Titicaca, lies 35 kilometres from the city of Puno and is found in an area which has long been revered by local indians as the "City of the Gods." Although no actual city has ever been discovered, the area is known as a Spirit Forest, or Stone Forest, made of strange rock formations that resemble buildings, people, and other artificial structures (Simulacrum). The door or the "Puerta de Hayu Marca" (Gate of the Gods) has been, at some time in the distant past, carved out of a natural rock face and in all, measures exactly 23' in height and width, with a smaller alcove in the centre at the base which measures in at just under 6' in height.
Jose Luis Delgado Mamani stumbled across the structure in 1996 while trekking through the surrounding foothills trying to familiarize himself with the area as his job is as a guide for mountaineering tourists. "When I saw the structure for the first time, I almost passed out..." said Mamani in an interview with the local press.
The native Indians of the region had a legend that spoke of "a gateway to the lands of the Gods", and in that legend, it was said that in times long past great heroes had gone to join their gods, and passed through the gate for a glorious new life of immortality, and on rare occasions those men returned for a short time with their gods to "inspect all the lands in the kingdom" through the gate.
Another
legend tells of the time when the Spanish Conquistadors arrived in
Peru and looted gold and precious stones from the Inca tribes.
According to one legend an Incan priest of the Temple of the Seven
Rays named Amaru Meru (Aramu Muru) fled from his
temple with a sacred golden disk known as "the key of the gods
of the seven rays", and hid in the mountains of Hayu Marca. He
eventually came upon the doorway which was being watched by shamen
priests. He showed them the key of the gods and a ritual was
performed with the conclusion of a magical occurrence initiated by
the golden disk which opened the portal, and according to the legend
blue light did emanate from a tunnel inside. The priest Amaru Meru
handed the golden disk to the shamen and then passed through the
portal "never to be seen again". Archeologists have
observed a small hand sized circular depression on the right hand
side of the small entranceway, and have theorized that this is where
a small disk could be placed
It has been observed that the structure superficially resembles the Gate of the Sun at Tiwanaku (Tiahuanaco). It is also said to be aligned by five other archaeological sites which together form an imaginary cross with straight lines crossing each other exactly at the point where the plateau and Lake Titicaca are located.
The gate of sun Tiahuanaco
The
small circular depression in the centre is said to be the place where
a golden disk was placed.

ARRIVAL TO HYPEREARTH
The
girls found themselves walking through what seemed to be the outskirts of a
village, along the main road, but without a person in sight.
“This place
gives me the shivers,” Mary commented. Suddenly, to their surprise, the two
girls caught site of people motionless all around them—some on the street, some
on the sidewalk.
“They seem to
have been turned into statues!” Mary remarked.
As they examined
the human statues, they suddenly heard the low but firm voice of a man dressed
in a dark coat and hat. “What are you doing here? Are you crazy? Do you want to
end up like these people? Come here!” Shocked, the girls abided by his advice
and followed him into his house.
“What’s wrong?”
Mary asked.
“Hmm, where are
you from? Sathon the sorcerer has cast a spell on these people and you can’t go
outside. If he sees you, he’ll turn you both into pillars of black stone!” It
was only at that point that the man decided to introduce himself. “My name is
Ron Mulley,” he said with a bow, taking off his hat. “And I know how Sathon can
be cheeky!”
“Sorry, sir! We
didn’t know. We’re new here,” Martina replied.
“And where do
you come from? Another dimension?” Mulley asked.
The girls looked
at each other, feeling awkward. “Well, we are from Earth.”
“Aha, I knew it!
People on Earth are careless and superficial, and it’s been a long time since
we met one.”
“What an
arrogant man,” Martina whispered to Mary.
“What was that?”
Mulley asked in suspicion.
“Nothing, nothing,”
Mary insisted.
“Well, let me
bring you to Bear. He knows about people from the dimension of Earth. Follow
me,” Mulley instructed.
The girls
followed him into a cellar and then through a well-lit tunnel. “When Sathon
turns wicked, we move into these tunnels,” Mulley remarked. They arrived at a
door displaying a carving of two wolves, and as the door opened, a towering man
with a giant moustache appeared. It was Bear. Mulley showed the girls to a
couple of chairs to sit down, and then left them.
“I’m Bear Kolos.
First of all, I want to tell you congratulations! It’s been a long time since
people from Earth came this far.”
“Nice to meet
you Bear,” Martina responded, polite but still apprehensive of their
surroundings. “I’m Martina and this is Mary.”
“You’ll see that
this dimension is a bit different from Earth, but you’ll get used to it,” Bear
said in a friendly tone.
“Get used to it?
But we already want to go home!” Martina answered resolutely.

The mysterious Annunaki
The
Legend of the Anunnaki and Planet Nibiru
The Anunnaki (also transcribed as: Anunna, Anunnaku, Ananaki and other variations) are a group of Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian deities.
Zecharia Sitchin was an Azeri-born American author of books promoting an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he states was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune, called Nibiru.
He believed this hypothetical planet of Nibiru to be in an elongated, elliptical orbit in the Earth's own Solar System, asserting that Sumerian mythology reflects this view. Sitchin's books have sold millions of copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 25 languages.
Sitchin's theories are not accepted by scientists and academics who dismiss his work as pseudohistory and pseudoscience Sitchin's work has been criticized for flawed methodology and mistranslations of ancient texts as well as for incorrect astronomical and scientific claims.
Similarly to earlier authors such as Immanuel Velikovsky and Erich von Däniken, Sitchin advocated theories in which extraterrestrial events supposedly played a significant role in ancient human history.
According to Sitchin's interpretation of Mesopotamian iconography and symbology, outlined in his 1976 book "The 12th Planet" and its sequels, there is an undiscovered planet beyond Neptune that follows a long, elliptical orbit, reaching the inner solar system roughly every 3,600 years. This planet is called Nibiru.
According to Sitchin, Nibiru (whose name was replaced with MARDUK in original legends by the Babylonian ruler of the same name in an attempt to co-opt the creation for himself, leading to some confusion among readers) collided catastrophically with Tiamat (a goddess in the Babylonian creation myth the Enûma Eliš), which he considers to be another planet once located between Mars and Jupiter.
This collision supposedly formed the planet Earth, the asteroid belt, and the comets. Sitchin states that when struck by one of planet Nibiru's moons, Tiamat split in two, and then on a second pass Nibiru itself struck the broken fragments and one half of Tiamat became the asteroid belt.
The second half, struck again by one of Nibiru's moons, was pushed into a new orbit and became today's planet Earth.
According to Sitchin, Nibiru (called "the twelfth planet" because, Sitchin claimed, the Sumerians' gods-given conception of the Solar System counted all eight planets, plus Pluto, the Sun and the Moon) was the home of a technologically advanced human-like extraterrestrial race called the Anunnaki in Sumerian myth, who Sitchin states are called the Nephilim in Genesis.
He wrote that they evolved after Nibiru entered the solar system and first arrived on Earth probably 450,000 years ago, looking for minerals, especially gold, which they found and mined in Africa.
Sitchin states that these "gods" were the rank-and-file workers of the colonial expedition to Earth from planet Nibiru.
Sitchin wrote that Enki suggested that to relieve the Anunnaki, who had mutinied over their dissatisfaction with their working conditions, that primitive workers (Homo sapiens) be created by genetic engineering as slaves to replace them in the gold mines by crossing extraterrestrial genes with those of Homo erectus.
According to Sitchin, ancient inscriptions report that the human civilization in Sumer, Mesopotamia, was set up under the guidance of these "gods," and human kingship was inaugurated to provide intermediaries between mankind and the Anunnaki (creating the "divine right of kings" doctrine).
Sitchin believes that fallout from nuclear weapons, used during a war between factions of the extraterrestrials, is the "evil wind" described in the Lament for Ur that destroyed Ur around 2000 BC. Sitchin states the exact year is 2024 BC.
Sitchin says that his research coincides with many biblical texts, and that biblical texts come originally from Sumerian writings./p>
Criticism of Sitchin's work falls primarily into three categories: 1) translations and interpretations of ancient texts, 2) astronomical and scientific observations, and 3) literalism of myth.
When Sitchin wrote his books only specialists could read the Sumerian language, but sources such as the 2006 book Sumerian Lexicon, have made the language more accessible to non-experts.
Ancient language scholar Michael S. Heiser, states that he has found many inaccuracies in Sitchin's translations and challenges interested parties to use this book to check their validity.
Prof. Ronald H. Fritze, author of the book Invented Knowledge: False History, Fake Science and Pseudo-religions," mentions the example of Sitchin's claim that the Sumerian sign Din-Gir means "pure ones of the blazing rockets," adding that "Sitchin's assignment of meanings to ancient words is tendentious and frequently strained."
Fritze also commented on Sitchin's methodology, writing that "When critics have checked Sitchin's references, they have found that he frequently quotes out of context or truncates his quotes in a way that distorts evidence in order to prove his contentions. Evidence is presented selectively and contradictory evidence is ignored."
Sitchin bases his arguments on his personal interpretations of pre-Nubian and Sumerian texts, and the seal VA 243. Sitchin wrote that these ancient civilizations knew of a twelfth planet, when in fact they only knew five. Hundreds of Sumerian astronomical seals and calendars have been decoded and recorded, and the total count of planets on each seal has been five.
Seal VA 243 has 12 dots that Sitchin identifies as planets. When translated, seal VA 243 reads "You're his Servant" which is now thought to be a message from a nobleman to a servant. According to semitologist Michael S. Heiser, the so-called sun on Seal VA 243 is not the Sumerian symbol for the sun but is a star, and the dots are also stars.
The symbol on seal VA 243 has no resemblance to the hundreds of documented Sumerian sun symbols.
In a 1979 review of The Twelfth Planet, Roger W. Wescott, Prof. of Anthropology and Linguistics at Drew University, Madison, New Jersey, noted Sitchin's amateurishness with respect to the primacy of the Sumerian language.
Sitchin's linguistics seems at least as amateurish as his anthropology, biology, and astronomy. On p. 370, for example, he maintains that "all the ancient languages . . . including early Chinese . . . stemmed from one primeval source -- Sumerian."
Sumerian, of course, is the virtual archetype of what linguistic taxonomists call a language-isolate, meaning a language that does not fall into any of the well-known language-families or exhibit clear cognation with any known language.
Even if Sitchin is referring to written rather than to spoken language, it is unlikely that his contention can be persuasively defended, since Sumerian ideograms were preceded by the Azilian and Tartarian signaries of Europe as well as by a variety of script-like notational systems between the Nile and Indus rivers.
Sumerian literature is the literature written in the Sumerian language during the Middle Bronze Age. Most Sumerian literature is preserved indirectly, via Assyrian or Babylonian copies.
The Sumerians invented the first writing system, by about the 30th century developing Sumerian cuneiform writing out of earlier proto-writing systems. The earliest literary texts appear from about the 27th century BC.
The Sumerian language remained in official and literary use in the Akkadian and Babylonian empires, even after the spoken language disappeared from the population; literacy was widespread, and the Sumerian texts that students copied heavily influenced later Babylonian literature.
Sumerian literature has not been handed down to us directly, rather it has been rediscovered through archaeology. Nevertheless, the Akkadians and Babylonians borrowed much from the Sumerian literary heritage, and spread these traditions throughout the Middle East, influencing much of the literature that followed in this region, including the Bible.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Hello writers and readers,
I would like to wish Happy St.Patricks day to my U.K.and Irish fellows and also to the north America ones!
We don't celebrate it in Italy, but I know it is a tradition holiday that Irish and Americans like to celebrate over English too.
Since i like to write fantasy stories and books, i like the phrase "Luck of the Irish" and that when end the rainbow you can find a glod pot !
And also the shamrock is a sign of luck (most for me) also if according to legend, Saint Patrick used the three-leaved shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to Irish pagans.

Monday Excerpt
Hello writers and readers,
Here is another excerpt about my book Hyperearth:
“It’s Darden!”
Kestrel exclaimed, trembling in fear.
“One of Sathon’s
relatives, maybe?” Martina asked softly.
“Yes,” Kestrel
replied, still shaking. “He was his grandfather, and was the most evil of the
whole lineage.” Martina approached him to try to calm him a bit.
Meanwhile, the
noise persisted. Mary called Martina over. “Look at this! The drawer under the
puzzle is moving!”
The drawers were
flying out of the desk, and the girls waited impatiently for the chaotic
movement to cease. The last drawer stopped halfway open, only about eight
inches. The girls peered in it but were disappointed to find that it was empty.
“Amazing!”
Martina grumbled. “All this trouble for nothing, just an empty drawer?”
“Shhh, listen!”
Mary quieted her. They heard the noise of something rolling, slowly approaching
them. Then suddenly, something appeared in the drawer!
“Hurray!”
Martina exclaimed, uncontrollably happy. “I knew there had to be something in
there.”
Inside the
drawer was a sealed envelope, fastened by two red ribbons that held a tiny key.
Instead of a hole at the head of the key, there was a symbol of a rampant
dragon and a cornucopia. “I wonder what this envelope has inside of it, and
what the key opens,” Martina mused aloud.
“The best thing
would be for Bear to take a look at it,” Kestrel suggested. “Then we can see
here what the key is used for.”
“I guess you’re
right,” Mary agreed. “Anyway, I see that you’re better. You were really in a
daze for a while.”
“You don’t know
Darden,” Kestrel began. “All of his wicked deeds have been talked about for
centuries. Even though he died hundreds of years ago, his brutality affected a
lot of people. That’s why, when I saw his picture, I nearly had a heart
attack.” His voice quivered with nervousness.
